I am a huge fan of running at work. Especially when I get into funks where running feels more like a chore and less like self-care. And, usually when running feels like a chore, is when I need to run and practice self-care the most.
The past 2 mornings I have had 0 desire to wake up and run. I have been putting in long work days, not sleeping well and drinking more wine than a Catholic priest on Sunday. 6AM runs are not appealing. But, leaving work for a quick little 3-miler is MORE than appealing.
The key for running at work is packing. I bring more stuff to work when I run than I do to the gym, I think. The biggest, most important items are:

If you’re feeling fancy, or have wicked important meeting (like I did yesterday) I suggest also bringing shampoo (if you have bangs especially), face wash, hair straightener and make-up.
My tips and tricks are to follow. It’s about to get real- real gross. Apologies to my mom and boyfriend, you both have raised me to be more polite than this.
-Hang out in your running clothes for awhile so that your sweat has a chance to dry. No reason to get sweat on to your work clothes, let your gross running clothes absorb it.
-Wash bangs and face in the sink, use dried shampoo for the rest of your hair. Make sure to do this while your in the buff or in your running clothes to avoid getting water and dry shampoo all over you.
-Use make-up wipes and or baby-wipes to remove the aforementioned dried sweat.
-Reapply make up and fix hair
-Change back into work clothes and be way more productive than you had been before with all those endorphins pumping!
I’m lucky because my work environment is pretty relaxed. Most of my coworkers think it’s impressive that I leave for a run and admire my dedication. The others think I am crazy and make fun of me for parading around in my running clothes for hours after my run. Bitches be jealous.
Obv, the hotter it is outside the sweatier and more disgusting you are going to get, so plan accordingly. A lot of times, I have meetings in the AM and am locked up in the office by myself for hours in the afternoon, so I am only subjecting myself and maybe work wife to my sweatiness.
So if you can’t get yourself up for a morning run. And you have a hard time finding energy at the end of the day, like I do, sneak a run in at work! I swear, I am much more productive after. I feel accomplished, re-energized and I think running clothes make me feel bad-ass so I do more.
