Why hello! Did ya’ll think I forgot about you? Well, I didn’t. I just forgot about running and not eating like a death row inmate. And over the last couple weeks I have noticed something startling. I am getting fat. Fat and out of shape.

Leading up to my wedding, I was able to eat relatively healthy and also to workout regularly. After the wedding, I treated myself … a lot. Bottles of wine, champagne, tubs of ice cream, peanut butter and bags of tortilla chips have gone down my gullet.

As 2016 starts out and my pants get tighter, I decided I really want to recommit myself to running and my fitness. I looked for races to sign up for to motivate me to get up and run on the frigid mornings, I recalled a goal I had set for myself years ago- to run a marathon before I turn 30.
Since I am less than 6 months from my 30th birthday my window for completing this is rapidly closing. And, I’ve decided that I am going to attempt to do this. Attempt prob makes it seem like I am not fully committed but I def am committed to the training. My goal is to run in the Shipyard Maine Coast Marathon on Sunday May 15th, 2 weeks before I turn 30! There also happens to be a half marathon that day so if for some reason I do not feel as though I am physically ready to do the marathon, then I will participate in the half. BUT- all my training will be for the full.
