Word on the street is- running is more of a mental game than body game. I feel like that is biggest crock of shit I have ever heard, but I’ll trust these ‘experts.’
I mean I guess I do believe that it is a mental game. I can recall my first half marathon where I was dying somewhere around mile 9 or 10 debating calling my dad to pick me up because I had chub rub. But, I didn’t. I powered through and finished. I remember telling myself “You’ve got this, take your time. You can do this.” And I did. Not super well or anything but I did it and I was wicked pumped.
As I read advice from some of my favorite blogs and running websites, I realize I need to enter my training with a positive attitude and do this whole positive affirmation thing. I have found a few quotes that I am really digging and may hang up in my office like:

These mostly are all running related. And here are 26.2 more. But I am looking for some quotes, mantras, lyrics whatever get you PUMPED up that I can repeat to myself when I run 26.2 miles in 19 weeks! I’ll have about 5 hours to think so I need lots.
