This morning I decided to try a chocolate smoothie with the MCT Lean Vegan Protein Powder. I have never been a big fan of chocolate flavored protein, it typically has a fake flavor to me and a lot of fruits and veggies do not blend as well as it does with vanilla.
Brownie Batter Smoothie Recipe:
1 Tbs MCT Oil
1 packet MCT Lean Vegan Chocolate ProteinĀ Blend
1 c fresh strawberries (I leave the tops on because they are being blended and because I am unbelievably lazy in the morning)
1/4 c frozen kale
1/4 c frozen raspberries
1/2 c water
a few ice cubes
Add all into the blender, blend to taste.
The chocolate taste is overpowering. It tastes like I am drinking brownie batter- which I am more than okay with! Then there isĀ a little taste of tartness of the raspberries.
I actually really liked the chocolate protein powder! I am surprised. I think MCT Lean’s recipe makes a more natural tasting product than a lot of the other chocolate protein powders I have tried. All I could think about was how delicious it would be blended with coffee… so that will be coming later this week!
